The Adventures of Freddy the Movie Guy

As most of you know, Freddy is working at the AMC theatres in West Shore Mall. He always has a great story of (I'm sorry, but it's true) REALLY stupid people. He came home tonight and I asked how his night was, and you could see on his face, a good one was coming! This is what he posted on his myspace:

A report to his manager:

Jeanne, Just a heads up on an incident that occurred tonight. At 8pm (right as I was about to clock off.. great) a woman attempted to enter the theater for the 7:30 Sex and the City. I informed her that no more people were being allowed into the theater as it had already started. She gave me the story that she had driven from Pinellas and spent $4 on gas. I let her know that I am sorry for the inconvience but that no one was being allowed in. She requested to speak to a manager and I informed her I was one. She then requested to speak to someone above me and I pointed out Jen which is when she requested "Someone older" so I said "Excuse me?" to which she withdrew the statement. She rephrased to ask for someone over Jen so we directed them to the event security who gave her the same information we did.She then asked Troy at concession for our (the managers) names, so I stopped her and told her if she needed information we would be glad to give it to her but not to speak to our staff. She asked me for my name and when I proceded to give it to her (while spelling my last name: Nassar) she said "As in Abdul?" so again I said "Excuse me?" to which she attempted to withdraw but I told her to leave the building as I was not about to let myself be discriminated against in my place of work. It took me threatening to call mall security before she began to walk out. I followed her to the door and made sure she left.I wanted to give you this information incase anything were to come of it and you did not know what happen.

-Freddy Nassar (not Abdul)-----------------------------------

There you have it. Middle aged white woman threw a temper tantrum because she couldn't see her girl get married to Mr. Big.... can always pay to see it on Friday.

BBQ heaven

Fred went crazy cooking for Memorial Day. He spent the whole day outside by the grill and talking on the radio.

Here is a pic for all of you to slober over.
The Caddells came over to help eat it. It was good!

Lion King

It was AWESOME!!!

Fred and I had a great time. The seats (thanks Freddy!) were pretty good. I was like a little kid when the show began and all the "animals" came down the aisles. I kept pointing and going "look!" "oooh!" You almost forgot they were people with costumes/puppets. There were a few scenes where there was so much going on, I know if I went again, I would see something new. I wish we could have taken pics inside.

The only thing is the evening showed how Fred and I are getting old. The program was from 8pm-11-pm. Before the end of the first part, I was yawning and thinking of bed. ha ha.

I would see this again in a heart beat!! I wouldn't mind going to see other plays. There is just something so unique at seeing a live performance. I need to see what else is coming...

I blubbler a lot

Well, here's the second half of my birthday. I came home from work not feeling too great, so I laid down. I was supposed to go to church for the 1st class of sign language, but I just couldn't do it. Fred had a SS teachers mtg, so he was gone. The boys were both gone, so I got the house to myself to watch my new "chick flick" movie, PS I love you. Fred got it for me. I cried through most of the movie. It was a great story. Fred came home to me all broken up. I am sure he wonders why I watch movies that do that to me.

During the movie, my brother called me. I let it go to voicemail as I was watching my movie. (had to finish watching it before Idol started)

Good thing, too. My brother had the kids sing "happy birthday" to me. I started blubbering all over again. Fred didn't know what was wrong with me. After I composed myself, I called them back and got to talk with the kids. That was very nice...

So, how did I spend my birthday? Crying... how goofy is that? Well, it was a good cry anyway.

Lion King tomorrow!!!!!

Happy Birthday To Me!!

Today I turned 43. I don't have issues with age. At least, not yet. When it comes to birthdays, I am a real little kid. I like a big deal made out of me for my birthday. That doesn't always happens, then I have to deal with it. I guess that is part of growing up. :)

It was pretty uneventful. Wasn't mentioned at work, even though I was shamefully announcing it for the last few days. lol

Steph was the first to wish me Happy Birthday... at 12:15am!! It was very sweet of her, but to hear her "ring" on my cell in the middle of the night freaked me out. Thought something was wrong. She's my girl, though, and knows it meant a lot to me.

Fred and I will be going to Lion King this Friday. Can't wait! It's going to be so great!

Per Stephany

She wanted to show how she "helped" her dad put on new brake pads on her car...

My kids

In a rare moment, we got Andy to smile, I think Steph tickled him... I can't get over at how much they look like twins to me...
Then, there's Freddy. He is a lot like his dad. He has an introverted personality (probably why he likes the internet so much). But then, he has his goofy side that comes out when you least expect it.

So sad

The Brandon community and beyond found out today that the pastor of Bell Shoals Baptist church was found, along with his 13 year old son, dead at his plane crash site.

I don't go to Bell Shoals and I never met the pastor. But this pastor was truly a man of God. He helped make the church one of the most thriving churches in the area, not just in numbers, but through missions here and abroad. He was a father to 6 kids, was very involved in social issues. He was trying to make a difference in this world.

I cannot even try to imagine what his congregation, staff or his family is going through. I didn't know him and have had a very heavy heart all day.

Fred called me to let me know the news and he said "we'll have to see what God is going to do with this". And that is so true. This tragedy is not for nothing.

But can I be of the flesh for a moment and say I don't understand? that I think this is such a waste? Why them? I mean, he was only 44 and his son just 13!!

I wish I could be eloquent enough to be here and say that "all things work for good..."
All I have is my life verse:

fear not, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, YES I will help you.
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10
Please keep his family, his congregation and staff in your prayers. It's going to be tough for a while...

My boys

First of all, I want to say I had a very nice Mother's Day. the worship service was great, we went to Cheddars (my favorite!) for lunch, and all my kids were with me, which is quite a task with their weird schedules/lives.

Now Freddy: He completely surprised me & Fred with Lion King tickets. He said this should cover Mother's day, birthdays, valentine's day & christmas. I told him that I still want to be able to open something at Christmas, so he is getting me a lion king stuffed animal to remind of the tickets... :)
After lunch, the boy goes to Best Buy (his candy store) to look at car stereo systems with gps & dvd players. I told him that was a waste of money and he really shouldn't do that. Well, he didn't buy one... he bought a home entertainment system for his bedroom.

this is his 60in tv

ONE of the speakers of the home entertainment system

He has just about every technology "toy" a guy would want in his 10x12 room... that is one goofy boy...

Ok, then there's Andy: I meant to blog about this a couple of weeks ago but didn't get a picture...

He is now a "working man" and it took him a couple of paychecks for him to have the mentality that he doesn't need to save money, he should just spend it as it comes. (we are working on his knuckle-head) Anyway, he went to the mall to shop for some clothes. What he came home with was THIS:

this picture does not give the colors justice... they are NEON shiny! Oh, and he has a shirt to match too! He is so proud of his shoes & belt, he's only had them for a couple of weeks, but he's already hand cleaned them. I am hoping this is just a phase he is going through like when he was into the big "rhino" and "sean young" clothes back in middle school. I mean, there are bigger battles, you know? Now, if he wants to dye his hair ANY of these colors, I will put my foot down... :)

My kids make me smile!

46 years ago today

Frederick Nassar was born!!

I, for one, am VERY glad of that!

He has become a wonderful man of God since that day, not without a few bumps & scrapes, I am sure!
I have known him since I was 16 years old. He loves God, his children, whom he prays for every day. He takes very good care of his "better half". He is a wonderful teacher of the Bible, will share with you what "Experiencing God" has to offer if you give him just a few minutes of your time.
Fred prepares for the future of our family, while at the same time is looking at what God is doing RIGHT now and how we can take part. He has a passion for Amateur Radio (you might say his 1st love), loves to cook (specifically BBQ), likes to fish, and enjoys taking trips (with me!) to hit food festivals.

He loves his children VERY much and prays for them DAILY.
I pray God will give him MANY more years of health and happiness!!

Happy Birthday Honey!!!

American Idol is making me MAD!!!!

I have become an American Idol "junkie". Blame Steph. She got me hooked a few years ago. And like most things with her, she gets me addicted and then she stops watching it herself! Before she left for UCF, she begged me to come home from Awana to watch it with her. Last year, we would text during the show about the performances. This year, she left me all alone. Well, not alone, Fred likes watching it now too. But he likes to talk through the show and it frustrates me.
BUT that's not why I am mad. Last night, for the 3rd week in a row, Jason Castro was allowed to stay while they sent home someone who was MUCH better than him. I just don't get it! How can people think he's good!!! Yeah, he's got a cute smile to go along with his great eyes. BUT THAT SHOULD NOT BE ENOUGH!!! Plus, he just looks like he is either too immature to know how important the competition is or he just doesn't care. He is constantly shrugging his shoulders when he's asked questions and mumbles his answers. I mean, if that can get you into American Idol, I am signing Andy up for next season!!!
I really liked Brooke White. Fred didn't, he said she talked and gave her opinions too much. I think she was really "human". And POOR Syesha Mercado! She has been on the bottom list every time. And she is the only one who has shown PROGRESSIVE improvement. I don't get it!
But will I stop watching it? NO WAY! There's only 4 people left! And let me put it out there right now: I predict that David Cook is going to win, with possibly David Archuleta as second.
